Major rejig in Police Deptt; 24 IPS, JKPS officers transferred | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 09 (KNO): In a major reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the transfer and posting of 24 IPS and JKPS officers in the interest of administration. According to an order under number 484-Home of 2025, issued by the Home Department, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Abdul Ghani Mir, IPS (AGMUT:1994), awaiting orders of posting, has been appointed as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF, J&K, relieving Alok Kumar, IPS of the additional charge. Among other key transfers, Mohd. Yaseen Kichloo, IPS (AGMUT:2013), has been transferred from SSP CICE Jammu and posted as Principal STC Talwara, while Shobhit Saxena, IPS (AGMUT:2015), SSP Kathua, has been appointed as SSP Security, J&K. Tanushree, IPS (AGMUT:2017), serving as SP SIA HQ, has been transferred as SSP Pulwama, replacing P.D. Nitya, IPS, whereas Sahil Sarangal, IPS (AGMUT:2017), has been posted as SSP Handwara, succeeding Mushtaq Ahmad. Mohita Sharma, IPS (AGMUT:2017), AIG Provisions, has been appointed as SSP Kathua, replacing Saxena and Anayat Ali Choudhary, IPS (AGMUT:2017), has been transferred as SSP Kulgam, succeeding Sahil Sarangal. In the JKPS cadre, several officers have also been reassigned. Mohd Arif Rishu has been posted as Director CTC Lethpora, Benam Tosh as Deputy Director SKPA Udhampur and Harmeet Singh Mehta as Commandant 13 IR. Other notable transfers include Javid Iqbal as AIG CT & Intelligence, Mohd Fiesel Qureshi as SSP EOW Jammu, Ramnish Gupta as SSP CICE Jammu, Aijaz Ahmed Zargar as SSP Bandipora, and Mushtaq Ahmad as SSP Shopian. Additionally, several awaiting officers, including Ashiq Hussain Tak, Owaise Rashid, Sarfaraz Bashir Ganai, Gh. Mustafa Bhat, Shahzada Kabir Mattoo, and Ashish Gupta, have been assigned to various battalion posts in the IRP and JKAP units. The order, signed by Chandraker Bharti, IAS Principal Secretary to the Government, stated that the transfers and postings come into effect immediately. In a separate order, the Jammu and Kashmir government ordered the transfer and posting of three senior JKPS officers, including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara. According to an official order issued by the Home Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu/Srinagar, in the interest of administration, the following transfers and postings are hereby ordered with immediate effect. Sanjay Kumar Bhagat (JKPS:2001) Commandant 14 JKAP, is transferred and posted as AIG Buildings vice Amit Bhasin, who shall await further posting at Police Headquarters, J&K. Gh. Jeelani Wani (JKPS:2001) SSP Kupwara, is transferred and posted as Commandant 14 JKAP, vice Sanjay Kumar Bhagat. Syed Al-Tahir Gilani (JKPS:2001) Staff Officer of DGP, J&K, is transferred and posted as SSP Kupwara vice Gh. Jeelani Wani. By Order of the Lieutenant Governor—(KNO)
